Serve By Giving
Our financial commitment matches our passion.

Chippewa Valley Bridge Builders is a coalition of faith-based organizations and community members that is sponsoring an asylum-seeking immigrant family from Central America who arrived in the Eau Claire area in 2021. First Congregational UCC is CVBB’s fiscal agent. Although the family is legally authorized to live here, they must await federal approval to apply for a work permit and are not eligible for federal assistance programs while awaiting their asylum hearing. Their living and legal expenses are funded by the CVBB through donations and fundraisers, 100 percent of which goes directly for their needs.
As a sponsor, CVBB partners with the family on their asylum-seeking journey and provides stability for their life here. For more information, contact Greg Barnes: gregleebarnes@gmail.com.

We partner with neighborhood churches to provide essentials that help low-income Longfellow and Lakeshore Elementary School students successfully participate in school.

Children get a head start on learning to share their blessings with others. On Sunday mornings, their coins clang into the bucket to raise money for missions such as Compassion Child sponsorship, Heifer International, and many local organizations.

We collect and donate items that this ministry then can give to people who are homeless in Eau Claire.

This ecumenical project, coordinated by The Salvation Army, provides one place for those in need to seek help with rent, heating, gas cards, and bus tokens.

Collections of food, money, and hygiene items benefit St. Francis Food Pantry and Feed My People Food Bank.

We collect money, food, and supplies for pets awaiting adoption.

Diapers are collected for distribution through St. Francis Food Pantry.

Our Advent Giving Tree donations provide health care for those in need.

Financial pledges and gifts to the church and its ministries are an individual decision. A pledge drive is held each spring to guide the church’s annual budget. Planned gifts also can be established.
